Description:

Caldwell Recreation Center was created from two old fire-damaged PEMB warehouse buildings totaling 43,200 square feet. The restoration work involved analyzing the existing buildings and developing a means and method to structurally restore the PEMB buildings to meet the latest design codes and regulations. The project included repairing and reinforcing damaged primary and secondary steel, installing additional roof structure to support the athletic equipment, installing a new steep sloped screw down roof panel system and metal wall panels utilizing simple saver insulation systems for the roof and wall to meet the Illinois Energy Code. Caldwell Center now features two indoor soccer fields (28,800 square feet) and a basketball court (14,400 square feet).
